Nexus Packaging is proud to announce our partnership with Blow Moulding Consultants (BMC), an international team of extrusion blow moulding specialists, each with up to 40 years of industry experience.
Our partnership involves the development of blow moulding tooling at our site in Glasgow for large scale production on customers’ machines throughout the world.
Nexus will work with BMC to design the appropriate mould configuration and extrusion tooling, plus identify suitable polymers to ensure that blow moulding projects are delivered on time and in specification. BMC’s services include project management, UN testing and blow moulding training.
Director, Chris Wagner adds,
“A major problem with blow moulding projects is that, in most cases, new machine lead times are in the region of nine to twelve months. After the machine is complete, you mount the new moulds on the machine and start your development work which adds another eight to twelve weeks to the project. The lead time on new moulds is around three months so BMC can have the moulds completed and developed on our machines at the same time as the blow moulding machine is being built. Nexus can prove the design and preferred polymers during commercial production runs therefore reducing the project delivery time and significantly de-risking the venture. We will also carry out compliance work with respect to drop, stack and pressure testing to ensure that subsequent approval applications are successful.”
